In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it activate for 5–10 minutes.
Add all-purpose flour, salt, and oil to the yeast mixture.
Knead into a soft dough and cover it.
Let the dough rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Divide into small portions and roll into oval shapes.
Heat a pan or tawa on medium-high heat.
Place the naan on the hot pan and cook until bubbles form.
Flip and cook the other side until golden brown spots appear.
Optionally brush with vegan butter or oil and serve hot.
