BBQ Jackfruit Sandwiches are a delicious plant-based alternative to pulled pork sandwiches. Tender young green jackfruit is shredded and simmered in smoky barbecue sauce, creating a flavorful, hearty filling. Perfect for vegans, vegetarians, or anyone craving a savory sandwich packed with taste. Serve it with coleslaw, pickles, or extra BBQ sauce for a satisfying meal.

Cooking Method

Prepare Jackfruit: Drain, rinse, and shred the jackfruit, removing seeds and core pieces.
Sauté Aromatics: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft, then add garlic and cook for another minute.
Cook Jackfruit: Add shredded jackfruit, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Pour in BBQ sauce and stir until coated.
Simmer: Reduce heat and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until jackfruit is tender and flavors are absorbed.
Assemble Sandwich: Toast buns lightly. Pile BBQ jackfruit onto the buns. Add coleslaw, pickles, or extra sauce as desired.
Serve: Serve immediately with sides like chips, fries, or salad
