Prawn Singara (Chingri Singara – Bangladeshi Style)

Prawn Singara, also known as Chingri Singara, is a delicious and unique Bangladeshi snack made with crispy pastry filled with spiced prawns. This seafood variation offers a juicy, slightly sweet flavor from prawns combined with aromatic spices, creating a rich and mouthwatering experience. Cooking Method

Step 1: Prepare Dough
 

  •  Mix flour with a pinch of salt and 1 tbsp oil. 
  •  Add water gradually and knead into a smooth dough. 
  •  Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes. 


Step 2: Prepare Prawn Filling
 

  •  Heat oil in a pan. 
  •  Add chopped onions and sauté until light golden. 
  •  Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant. 
  •  Add chopped prawns and cook on medium heat. 
  •  Add green chilies, garam masala, and salt. 
  •  Cook until prawns are done and mixture becomes slightly dry. 
  •  Let it cool completely. 


Step 3: Shape Singara
 

  •  Divide dough into small balls and roll into thin circles. 
  •  Cut into halves and form cone shapes. 
  •  Fill with prawn mixture and seal edges with water. 


Step 4: Fry Singara
 

  •  Heat oil on medium-low flame. 
  •  Deep fry until crispy and golden brown. 


Step 5: Serve
 

  •  Serve hot with mint chutney, tamarind chutney, or spicy sauce.
