Peshawari Naan is a rich and indulgent Indian-style flatbread filled with a sweet mixture of dried fruits, nuts, and coconut. Inspired by traditional recipes from the Peshawar region, this soft and fluffy naan is baked in a hot tandoor until lightly charred and golden. Its unique sweet and savory flavor makes it a perfect companion to creamy curries, kebabs, or as a delicious treat on its own.
Prepare a soft dough by mixing all-purpose flour, yogurt, yeast, sugar, salt, and warm water.
Knead the dough until smooth and let it rise for 1–2 hours.
Mix chopped almonds, cashews, raisins, and grated coconut to create the filling.
Divide the dough into equal portions, place the filling in the center, and seal the edges.
Gently roll the stuffed dough into an oval-shaped naan.
Bake in a hot tandoor, oven, or cast-iron skillet until puffed with golden brown spots.
Brush with melted butter or ghee and serve warm.
