The dough is made from simple ingredients like flour, yeast, water, and salt. After shaping into rings, the bagels are briefly boiled and then baked until golden brown. This process creates a soft, chewy interior with a slightly crisp outer layer. They can be topped with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or left plain. 

Bagels are incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed with cream cheese, butter, or used as a base for sandwiches. They pair well with both sweet and savory toppings.

Cooking Method


  1.  Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. 
  2.  Add flour and salt, then knead into a firm dough. 
  3.  Let the dough rise for 1–2 hours. 
  4.  Divide into portions and shape into rings. 
  5.  Bring water to a boil in a pot. 
  6.  Boil bagels for 1–2 minutes on each side. 
  7.  Remove and place on a baking tray. 
  8.  Add toppings if desired. 
  9.  Bake at 200°C (400°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden. 
  10.  Cool before serving.
