Cooking Method


  1.  Heat the palm oil in a large pot over medium heat. 
  2.  Add the onions and sauté until softened. 
  3.  Stir in the garlic, ginger, and chili peppers. 
  4.  Add the tomatoes and cook for 10 minutes until the mixture thickens. 
  5.  Add the smoked fish, dried fish, or cooked meat. 
  6.  Stir in the chopped cocoyam leaves. 
  7.  Add water, salt, and black pepper. 
  8.  Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until the leaves are tender. 
  9.  Stir occasionally and adjust seasoning if needed. 
  10.  Serve hot with boiled yam, plantains, rice, or other preferred accompaniments.
