Uniyappam is a traditional Kerala sweet made with rice flour, jaggery, banana, and coconut. These soft, golden-brown dumplings are lightly crisp outside and deliciously sweet inside.
Cooking Method
Melt the jaggery with a little water and strain it to remove impurities.
Mash the banana and mix it with rice flour, jaggery syrup, grated coconut, and cardamom.
Add a little water to make a thick, smooth batter and rest it for 20–30 minutes.
Heat ghee or oil in an uniyappam pan.
Pour the batter into the moulds and cook on medium-low heat until golden brown.
