Heat oil in a pan and sauté chopped onions until golden brown.
Add garlic and ginger paste, and cook for a minute until fragrant.
Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and form a thick base.
Add curry powder or garam masala and mix well.
Add chicken pieces and cook for 5–7 minutes while stirring.
Add water as needed and let the curry simmer until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Serve hot chicken curry with fresh chapati or roti.
