Rabbit Biryani Recipe | Aromatic and Spiced Rabbit Meat Biryani

 

Rabbit Biryani is a rich, aromatic, and flavorful rice dish made with tender rabbit meat, fragrant basmati rice, and a blend of traditional spices. This unique variation of biryani offers a delicious twist on the classic recipe, combining the mild taste of rabbit with the bold flavors of spices and herbs. 

The rabbit meat is marinated with yogurt, spices, and herbs to enhance its flavor and tenderness. Layered with partially cooked rice and slow-cooked together, the dish develops a deep and rich flavor, with each grain of rice infused with spices.

Cooking Method


  1.  Wash and soak basmati rice for 20–30 minutes. 
  2.  Marinate rabbit meat with yogurt, turmeric, chili powder, salt, and spices for at least 1 hour. 
  3.  Heat oil or ghee in a pot and fry sliced onions until golden brown. 
  4.  Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant. 
  5.  Add marinated rabbit and cook until partially done. 
  6.  In another pot, boil rice until 70% cooked and drain. 
  7.  Layer the partially cooked rice over the rabbit mixture. 
  8.  Add fresh herbs and a little ghee on top. 
  9.  Cover and cook on low heat (dum) for 20–25 minutes. 
  10.  Gently mix before serving and serve hot.
