Vegan Meatballs

 Vegan Meatballs are a delicious, plant-based alternative to traditional meatballs, perfect for pasta, sandwiches, or as a snack. Made with chickpeas, lentils, or plant-based protein, these meatballs are flavorful, hearty, and easy to make. Serve them with marinara sauce, vegan cheese, or your favorite sides for a wholesome meal. 

Cooking Method

 

Prepare Flax Egg: Mix ground flaxseed with water and let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

Mash Chickpeas: In a bowl, mash chickpeas until mostly smooth, leaving a few chunks for texture.

Mix Ingredients: Add chopped onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, flax egg, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1–2 inches in diameter.

Cook Meatballs:

  • Option 1 – Baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake meatballs for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Option 2 – Pan-Frying: Heat 1–2 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook meatballs until golden brown on all sides (8–10 minutes).


Serve: Serve with pasta, marinara sauce, sandwiches, or as a snack. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
