Authentic Pork Sisig Recipe | Famous Filipino Sizzling Pork Dish

Sisig is one of the most famous and flavorful dishes from the Philippines. Known for its sizzling presentation and bold taste, this popular Filipino dish is made with chopped pork, onions, chili peppers, and a tangy seasoning. It is often served on a hot sizzling plate, which makes the dish even more aromatic and exciting to eat.

Originally from Pampanga in the Philippines, Sisig has become a beloved dish across the country. Traditionally, it is prepared using parts of pork such as pork face, ears, and belly, which are boiled, grilled, and then finely chopped. The meat is mixed with onions, calamansi juice or lemon juice, and spices to create a rich, savory, and slightly tangy flavor.

Sisig is widely enjoyed as a main dish or as a popular appetizer during gatherings and celebrations. Many restaurants and street food stalls serve it on a sizzling plate topped with a raw egg that cooks slightly from the heat of the dish. This adds extra richness and flavor to the meal.

The combination of crispy pork, tangy citrus flavor, and spicy chili peppers makes Sisig a unique and satisfying dish. It is commonly served with steamed rice, making it perfect for lunch or dinner.

Preparing Sisig at home allows you to enjoy this classic Filipino street food with simple ingredients and a delicious homemade touch. The result is a flavorful and sizzling dish that represents the vibrant taste of Filipino cuisine.
